The vision of Hideaway View Estates began four years ago with a simple walk through the land, high above the flood plain, with wide open views of the valley and Mt. Rainier. The surrounding forest with bubbling mountain stream, wetlands and wildlife exuded a serenity only found in the Cascade Mountains.
Our small family group purchased the land and began to dream. We called our dream, Hideaway View Estates. The initial survey indicated the need for an easement, which came available through the estate sale of the present Hideaway View Estates Log Cabin.
The beautiful, old log cabin was constructed in 1973, and enjoyed quite a history and cast of characters. It was loved and lived in by the man who held the world record in cross bow. He built the very shop that stands today to create his passion. He climbed the trees and wired them together to keep them from falling on his beloved home. Remnants of that work can still be seen as one walks the property today.
The developers of Hideaway View Estates have a personal Packwood history spanning a total of 45 years. We appreciate the uniqueness of Packwood and have designed Hideaway View Estates to be the premier new community for those who love the area and want to live in an environment that protects the present as well as the future. This community will be built in phases, with the first phase being the Hideaway View Estates Log Cabin and the area behind it and beside it.
The owner of the Hideaway View Estates Log Cabin will have the enviable position of being at the front of Hideaway with easy access to Snyder Rd. The owners will also enjoy the benefits of walking the trails and using the community cabin when completed. The homes that will be built will have strict codes with the goal of protection of the land and property values. Every consideration will be taken into account to create a community that projects solitude and serenity and enhances the surrounding beauty.
